Farm Branding
Farm Branding
Project Overview
Persabus farm is located on the isle of Islay, off the west coast of Scotland. It has been farmed by the Fletcher family for over 100 years. Rosemary and Donald have been farming the land and building and renovating the old ruins over the last 25 years, creating holiday cottages and a Pottery/Cafe.
They approached me asking if I could design a brand identity that felt deeply rooted in the farm's heritage.

They approached me asking if I could design a brand identity that felt deeply rooted in the farm's heritage.
Design Approach
In conversation with the owners, I began drawing on the farm's history, looking at old photos from before the renovations. I gathered any memorabilia they had, using it as inspiration. The Highland
cow—a rustic cattle breed that has been farmed at Persabus since the Fletchers first lived there, they are a popular animal with guests, so I decided to centre the logo around it.

To achieve a traditional look, I used a combination of detailed tracing and a badge-style logo. The colours are inspired by the Scottish flag, and a serif font compliments the overall style.

Outcome
The result is a distinctive brand identity that reflects the farm’s history and highlights a key attraction. Rosemary and Donald have received positive feedback from guests and customers on the new branding.
I created designs for mugs used in the cottages and for sale, custom bags for the pottery, and a menu for the café. The logo has also been applied across the farm’s website and signage.
